Meet the Team

Erin Barbossa, LMSW
Founder
Erin founded Motherhood Supported with a conviction for helping mothers get the support they need to feel relief, heal, and live peacefully. Erin has always challenged the stigma around mental health issues. She wonders why do we go to the dentist 2x a year but we have no routine mental healthcare? She invites moms to feel welcomed to psychotherapy and the nurturing, safe environment it creates. Erin became a therapist after working as an Associate Producer for The Oprah Winfrey Show and says she is still helping women to live their best lives.
Erin received a dual degree from Syracuse University in Television, Radio, and Film Production & Psychology. She went on to receive her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with a specialization in children and families. Two of her favorite trainings have been Internal Family Systems, and with Postpartum Support International & 2020MOM: Certificate of Completion in Maternal Mental Health.

Maya McDaniel Bailey, LPC, NCC
Director of Development
Maya McDaniel Bailey is a licensed professional counselor, consultant, and artist of the inner world. She is the founder of From Rain to Rainbow Counseling & Consulting, where healing is treated as a human and creative practice. Her work integrates neuroscience, identity exploration, and the arts—understanding creativity as a powerful form of nervous system regulation and truth-telling.
Maya's approach is like a gentle but bright light of passion, purpose, and creativity. She holds space for whatever energy you bring and invites in all the mess—the hurt parts and the parts seeking support and vitality are all welcome. Today's world challenges us to stay grounded in Love even when we have so much to grieve. Maya brings her experience running groups for the LGBTQIA+ community, peer support for caretaking professionals, and her personal experience as a NICU mom to every circle.

You are not alone.
You never imagined getting pregnant would involve so many doctors appointments, pills, shots, and maybe even surgeries. You are not alone. About 12% of women aged 15 to 44 years in the United States have difficulty getting pregnant or carrying a pregnancy to term.
Infertility is a medical condition that can impact all aspects of your life. How you feel about yourself, your relationships with others, and your perspective on life can all shift living with constant uncertainty.
How can a therapist help?
Feeling preoccupied with your infertility can have a huge emotional impact. Leaning on your friends and family during this time is important, but it can also benefit you to see a licensed therapist to process this complex experience. You may find a safe neutral environment supportive when you are considering infertility treatment options such as IUI or IVF. We are here to support you if you are considering sperm, egg, or embryo donation or a gestational carrier to build your family

You also may want to seek the assistance of a therapist if you are feeling "stuck" and need to explore your options. Signs that you might benefit from counseling include:
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Persistent sadness
- Irritability and agitation
- Problems with your partner
- Issues with "scheduled" intercourse
- Feeling the need to control other things in your life
- Mood swings
- Constant preoccupation with infertility
- Change in appetite, weight, or sleep patterns
