Meet Rebecca Malasky, LMSW

LMSW

I sincerely believe that you are the expert on your life. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable and allow me to partner with you so that we can move forward together.

I completed my undergraduate training at Albion College and my master's degree at the University of Michigan. As part of my schooling, I worked as an intern at the Coombe Wood Mother and Baby Unit (an inpatient mental health facility for mothers and their babies) and at Michigan Medicine. In my professional career, I've supported individuals and families facing terminal and chronic illnesses as a medical social worker. My true passion lies in the work I do now, as an individual therapist.

With 15 years of experience, I use a strengths-based perspective and an eclectic approach to help my clients work through life's hardest challenges: life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I have specialized training and experience in perinatal mental health and working with clients navigating loss, pregnancy, and postpartum. I am passionate about working with women and mothers, utilizing a feminist perspective in my work.

I use principles of CBT, IFS, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing in my work with clients, tailoring my approach to the individual client's specific needs.

In my time outside of work I enjoy yoga, am an avid reader, and love trying out new recipes.
