FAQs

What are my payment options?

We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield policies from anywhere in the country. We can see clients who reside in the State of Michigan. We also take Blue Care Network.

If you don’t have Blue Cross Blue Shield or Blue Care Network, you can find out what kind of out-of-network coverage you have for mental health services. We do not submit for out-of-network coverage, however we can provide invoices for you to submit to your insurance provider.

We also have private pay options available that include a sliding scale. Meaning if you don’t have Blue Cross Blue Shield or Blue Care Network, we can provide you a price depending on your income and household size.

How long is a therapy session?

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically, you will see your therapist weekly for at least 12 weeks, maybe longer. In some cases, your therapist might recommend ongoing therapy to address a mental health condition that needs management.

How frequently should I attend?

Once a week is best to start, and provides the most consistent therapy. Bi-weekly is available once a therapeutic relationship has been established.

What should I expect in the first session?

First, you’ll answer some questions online and be directed to request an initial appointment. After your appointment time is confirmed you’ll be asked to fill out some intake paperwork. Then at your first session you’ll review what’s in your intake paperwork. Your therapist will ask you questions to learn more about you, your life now, and your history. At each subsequent session you can continue to talk about the same problem(s) or you can talk about how your week went since you saw your therapist last.

Do you offer online/virtual sessions?

Our practice is fully virtual. We find that many women have an easier time scheduling appointments when they can do so from the comfort of their home or office.

Do you prescribe medication?

We do not prescribe medication at this point in time. However we work with community partners to refer you to your primary care physician or a psychiatrist if you are looking for or may need medication management.
